The research team of the TUM has a long-standing expertise in RF and microwave engineering, in electromagnetic compatibility, network theory, information theory, and multiport communication theory. Strong modeling efforts have expanded in the past numerical techniques for electromagnetic modeling, such as transmission line matrix method, finite difference time domain method, integral equation methods, and hybrid methods, including the development of compact modeling techniques using network models for solving electromagnetic field problems. On the experimental side, new measurement techniques have been developed for real time measurement of electromagnetic interference. The team has developed methods for modeling of stochastic electromagnetic fields and is concerned with physically consistent modeling of communication systems.
